WISER's MOCA® simulation course is a fun, fast-paced and challenging experience. During the simulation sessions, participants will manage patients with hypoxia and hemodynamic instability in the setting of general surgical, neurosurgical, obstetric care and pediatric surgery. These Saturday classes run from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Why come to WISER for this training?
WISER began teaching with human-patient simulation in 1996, making us one of the longest-tenured simulation education facilities in the world. We have significant experience teaching anesthesiologists skills like management of the difficult airway, anesthesia crisis leadership, and central venous cannulation. You, or one of your colleagues, may have taken one of our courses at the ASA’s annual meeting. The curriculum focuses on relevant and challenging perioperative crises that a clinician might face. Our instructors are authors and experts in the field, and well versed in practical training for our anesthesiology colleagues. The University of Pittsburgh Department of Anesthesiology values simulation education so highly that it requires that all department faculty attend training at WISER.
WISER is located in Pittsburgh, PA, within blocks of the University of Pittsburgh main campus. We are 25-35 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport.
There are many convenient places to stay within walking distance of WISER, which means our participants do not need to rent a car. Go to our ""Hotels Page" for a list of locations.
